Graffiti Artist Arrested By Madison Police: Officials
Jeremy Gardner was caught after a two month investigation, police said.
MADISON, NJ - A 19-year-old Madison man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after a two month investigation into a more than two dozen incidents of graffiti found throughout town, according to the Madison Police Department.
According to authorities, Detective Sergeant Paul Kosakowski and Detective Adam Riley arrested Jeremy C. Gardner on May 15 and charged him with the fourth degree offense.
Beginning in March 2019, Madison Police began receiving reports of graffiti found
throughout town. The graffiti “tags” found were “JAEBANS” and “GEK” which were written on over 25 separate locations totaling several thousand dollars in damage.

The locations defaced included structures in public parks, apartment buildings, and commercial businesses to name a few. After the initial incidents the Morris County Shjeriff's Department offered a reward through the CrimeStoppers program, designating it the "crime of the week."
According to police, Madison detectives developed Gardner as a suspect and he was later arrested after an investigation.

“I am proud of our hard-working detectives who worked tirelessly for the past several months to bring this case to an end," Police Chief Darren Dachisen said.
Gardner was charged with 4th degree criminal mischief by and later released pending a court appearance in Morris County Superior Court, police said.
