Hearing Loss Association of American - Morris County Chapter presents Pianist Nancy Williams
"Claiming Your Passion, Despite Hearing Loss," a workshop on November 8th, 2014, 10 - 12 noon at the Madison Community House, Madison, NJ.

Ms. Williams will talk about how rediscovering her calling to play the piano after a 25-year hiatus helped her to switch careers and accept her hearing loss. Through her rediscovery and stories of others with hearing loss, the workshop outlines a systematic process for participants to discover their own calling, and how to implement a plan to realize it.
Born with hearing loss, Ms. Williams has worn hearing aids since childhood. Her hearing loss slowly declined in adulthood, and she now has a bilateral moderate loss. After a career in marketing for telecom and mobile phone companies, she is currently writing her memoir about her return to the piano in 2005. Her days are now spent in writing and the piano. Since 2009, she is a performing member of the New York Piano Society and has performed in three of the Society’s concerts in New Jersey and New York City. Her repertoire includes Chopin, Schumann, Beethoven and Debussy. In 2012 she debuted in recital at Carnegie Hall.
Ms. Williams is also passionate about hearing loss advocacy and self-help, as a way to eradicate the stigma of hearing loss. She serves on the Hearing Health Foundation board. Her workshop debuted at the Hearing Loss Association of America 2014 National Convention in Austin, Texas.
