Hungry Madison? Restaurant Week Is Back
The 2019 program is set for Oct. 6 through Oct. 11.

MADISON, NJ - Bring your appetites Madison because the Downtown Development Commission, Madison Area Chamber of Commerce and local restaurateurs are bringing Restaurant Week back to Madison.
This event will run through Sunday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 11. Madison has over fifty food establishments and this event will highlight many of them.
"Restaurant Week is the best opportunity to try a new restaurant or visit a favorite eating spot," said Karen Giambra, executive director of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. "A variety of cuisines are offered during Madison's Restaurant Week and guests have the chance to enjoy flavors from around the world, including Japanese, American, and Italian-inspired fare. It's some of the best food around."

The planning committee is chaired by owner, Jim Hollenbach and Chef Leia Gaccione of Central + Main American Eatery. As a Commissioner on the Downtown Development Commission, Hollenbach said he is focused on driving traffic to Madison’s central business district and as a local restaurateur, he is looking forward to this event.
“We are excited to be a part of Restaurant Week 2019. The buzz in town leading up to this special week has been amazing. Madison has so much to offer local foodies, from a variety of old classics to new modern cuisine," Hollenbach said. "Our local restaurants offer everything from a fast casual to fine dining. There will something for everyone during Restaurant Week and we at Central + Main can’t wait to be a part of what is sure to be a great event.”

The Madison “Skip the Straw” campaign kickoff will coincide with Restaurant Week.
“We are proud to launch "Skip the Straw” at Restaurant Week,” says Maureen Byrne, Council Liaison to the Environmental Commission. “The effort began with passionate students from Torey J. Sabatini School and Madison High School. Teams of kids walked the town in late spring, talked to restaurant owners and explained that plastic straws aren’t recyclable and have a negative impact marine wildlife."
The goal is to reduce plastic pollution by only offering plastic straws upon request. Ideally, business owners will move toward switching to paper of other biodegradable straws in the near future if they have not already done so.
There are many special offers posted and more to come, check the website frequently for updates.
