Jago, Girls Lacrosse Tops Montville, 7-6, for First Win

The Madison High School girls lacrosse team got its first win of the season on Monday as they stopped Montville High, 7-6, in Montville.

IN SHORT
After taking a 4-2 lead into halftime, an early Montville push saw Madison’s two-goal lead turn into a two-goal deficit. Madison wouldn’t give up, though, rattling off three straight goals, including a Biz Jago game-winner with two minutes remaining, to seal their first win of the young season.

"It’s good that we were able to come out on top in the end. We came out strong and I think at the beginning of the second half we lacked a little bit of intensity, so [Montville] was able to gain back on us. We were able to rally within each other and get it together to finish. One of the strongest traits of this team, is that they continue to fight to the end and even if we do hit a little bit of a lull, there’s never any concern because we know we have the ability to rally."—Anderson
