John Brennan, Ana Navarro, John Kasich Coming To Drew University

The former CIA Director, political strategist and former congressman will explore leadership, politics and intelligence in lecture series.

MADISON, NJ - Public service and politics are at the forefront of Drew University’s Drew Forum speaker series this semester and the public is invited to attend.

First up is former CIA Director John Brennan, followed by political strategist Ana Navarro and John Kasich, the former U.S. Congressman, governor and GOP presidential candidate. Here’s a closer look at each speaker.

Feb. 10: John Brennan

Brennan led the CIA from 2013 to 2017, after serving as an assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism. Earlier in his career, he spent 25 years in the CIA, working as a counterterrorism analyst, intelligence briefer, chief of staff and deputy executive director. He’s now a senior national security and intelligence analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, 7 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Feb. 27: Ana Navarro

As a strategist, Navarro advises GOP candidates for U.S. and state offices. In 2008, she was national Hispanic co-chair of John McCain’s presidential campaign and in 2012, she held the same role in Jon Huntsman’s bid for the White House. Navarro is also a leading Hispanic Republican voice who regularly appears as a pundit on CNN and Telemundo. And last year, she became a weekly co-host on ABC’s The View. The Concert Hall inside the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available here.

April 9: John Kasich

Kasich represented Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives for 18 years, serving on the Armed Services Committee and chairing the House Budget Committee. Subsequently, he became governor of Ohio, leading the state for eight years. In 2016, he ran for president in a field of 16 GOP candidates and was the last to withdraw before Donald Trump became the nominee. He’s also the author of four books. The Drew Forum is supported by the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation and Thomas H. Kean, the former two-term New Jersey governor who served as president of Drew from 1990 to 2005. Past guests include former Vice President Joe Biden, astronomer Neil deGrasse Tyson, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Pulitzer Prize-winning authors David McCullough and Colson Whitehead.
