Judge Orders Bail Maintained in Sex Assault Case

Initial hearing for Raymond Johnson of Madison.

A Superior Court judge maintained bail of $350,000 with no 10 percent option for Madison resident Raymond Johnson, accused in an alleged sexual assault of his girlfriend on April 24.

Johnson appeared at an initial hearing before Superior Court Judge Stuart A. Minkowitz Wednesday in Morristown.

Johnson was remanded to the Morris County jail in lieu of bail, according to his attorney, Roy Greenman. He had no other comment.

Johnson, 27, on Monday was charged with second-degree aggravated sexual  assault relating to the alleged domestic violence incident at his Kinney Street residence.

Minkowitz scheduled a status conference in the case for June 22.
