Kinney Street Resident Involved in 2010 Violent Fight Now Faces Aggravated Sexual Assault Charge

Raymond Johnson accused of assaulting his girlfriend at his home on Sunday.

A borough resident was arrested on Monday on second-degree aggravated assault charges relating to an alleged domestic violence incident at his Kinney Street residence on Sunday, Madison Police said.

Raymond A. Johnson, 27, was charged with second-degree aggravated sexual assault. He was remanded to the Morris County jail in lieu of $350,000 bail, with no 10 percent option, pending a Wednesday court hearing.

According to a statement released Tuesday by the Madison Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call on Sunday of a woman who was crying at the corner of Park Avenue and Crestwood Drive.

Detectives from the Madison Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes Unit investigated the incident.

The 22-year-old woman told authorities she had been assaulted by Johnson, her boyfriend, in his Kinney Street home, police said. According to police, Johnson allegedly sexually assaulted the woman during the incident. A patrolman on the scene observed visible injury to the victim's face and arms, according to the arrest affidavit.

She was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital where she was treated for what police described as "serious bodily injury," and where she revealed she had been sexually assaulted.

In a statement to police, the victim said the couple engaged in consensual intercourse, but the victim then asked the defendant to stop when she became uncomfortable and Johnson allegedly refused, the affidavit said.

In 2010, , also at his Kinney Street home, that sent a man, Marcus Banks, to the hospital with serious injuries.

In a Facebook exchange, Johnson challenged Banks to a fight. Banks then allegedly broke into Johnson's home and the two men fought, sending Banks to the hospital with serious injuries. Banks faces several charges from the incident, while no charges have been filed against Johnson.
