Madison Class of 2010 Graduates (Over 50 Photos)
The 114th Commencement Ceremony took place Friday evening at Madison High School.
As the sun set over Twombly Field, the members of the class of 2010 enjoyed their last moments as Madison High School students.
The Madison High School Symphonic Band kicked off the ceremony by leading the 171 graduates on to the field with "Pomp & Circumstance." Class President Gregory Zitelli gave the opening remarks and reminisced about senior year memories.
Both valedictorian and salutatorian Courtney Halgren and Caroline Miller based their speeches on questions. Halgren quoted messages friends left in her yearbook as a way to express her own sentiments in her speech, titled "So What?"

Miller's speech was titled "Really?!" and addressed times during her high school career when she approached life with a grain of salt.
This year's ceremony also marked the first ever presentation of the Benjamin Robert Wieler Memorial Scholarship. Wieler, a 2007 graduation of Madison High School, passed away earlier this year from complications from a brain tumor. The scholarship was awarded to Kyle Flyer, who was selected by his peers as well as the Madison faculty.

Principal Greg Robertson spoke to the class of 2010 prior to the presentation of the diplomas and told them to trust and believe in their abilities as they move into their next phase. Robertson said he had no doubt of the students' abilities and cited their achievements in science, music and the success of this year's athletic teams as proof of their credentials.
