Madison College Student Makes All-Sportsmanship Team

Landmark Spring All-Sportsmanship team features eight Rangers.

From Drew University: Eight Drew University student-athletes made the Landmark Conference All-Sportsmanship Team for the Spring 2018 season. One student-athlete from each institution in each sport--as selected by the players and coaches on their respective team--is recognized, and there were 73 honorees across the conference.

Men's lacrosse player Charles Maynard (Madison, Conn.) and Sage Johnson (Timonium, Md.) of the women's lacrosse squad were both chosen as their team's representative for the second straight year. They were joined on the All-Sportsmanship Team by baseball player Tom Burr (Alexandria, Va.), Raquel Cabrera (Hawthorne, N.J.) of the softball team and men's tennis representative Lloyd Goldstein (New Providence, N.J.).

Women's tennis player Ashley Camel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) added an All-Sportsmanship Team selection to go along with her All-Landmark nods in singles and doubles. Ryan D'Alessandro (Scituate, R.I.) and Kristen Bubrowiecki (Manalapan, N.J.), meanwhile, were Drew's inaugural Landmark All-Sportsmanship Team choices in men's and women's golf.

The All-Sportsmanship Team was created by the Landmark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in 2013-14 as a replacement for the Sportsmanship Cup, which had been awarded previously. It's a means of honoring those student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship and are making a difference both on and off the field. They are ambassadors for the team and exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches, officials, opponents, spectators and the greater campus community.
