Madison Education Foundation Gears Up for the 14th Annual Madison 5K—Register Today
Madison, NJ (March 31, 2017) – The Madison Education Foundation’s 14th Annual Madison 5K race takes place at Madison High School on Sunday, May 7th at 10:00 am. This family-friendly community event includes a USATF certified 5K race/walk plus races for children of all ages. The 5K starts and ends conveniently at Madison High School.
Sawyer Tadano, Madison High School senior and Varsity Cross Country and Track athlete, is hoping this year’s track schedule doesn’t keep him from winning the Madison 5K this year. Tadano states, “I think the Madison 5K is an important community event that everyone should support. You don’t have to be a serious runner to have a good time at the 5K— there are plenty of people walking and just enjoying the community spirit. It’s a fun day all around.” Many Madison residents, race-goers, and registrants recognize the importance that MEF grants play in enhancing the educational lives of students in the Madison community. Tadano has experienced first-hand many teacher-initiated grants approved at the high school. In fact, during MEF’s most recent Fall and Winter Grant Cycles, the Foundation awarded nearly $90,000 in academic enrichment grants across the Madison School District. The Foundation has awarded more than $1.1 million in grants since its inception in 2003.
