The Madison Education Foundation (MEF) will hold its fifth annual adult social from 7:30 pm to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14th at The Madison Hotel, 1 Convent Road, Morristown. The evening will raise funds to support the work of MEF, whose mission is to award grants to K-12 teachers for initiatives that energize the creative and academic lives of students but are above and beyond the school budget.

MEF President Mary Schaenen says, “This annual event is a critical fundraiser for MEF as proceeds are used to support upcoming grant cycles. Since our inception in 2003, the Foundation has awarded $835,000 across all five Madison public schools. MEF grants enrich the experience of students throughout the district and are made possible through the generosity of our community.”

The event will again be held in the Glynallyn Ballroom at The Madison Hotel. The evening will feature a silent auction and live music by jazz pianist, Jerry Vezza.

In addition to the silent auction MEF will hold a wine and spirit pull and a “mystery bag” selection. “One ticket price will provide a chance to win a modest gift, or something much more special,” says Gala Co-Chair and MEF Trustee Phyllis Watson. “We will again have a raffle -- tickets will be included in our invitations and available for purchase on site. Our 50/50 really augmented our proceeds from last year’s event and one lucky winner went home with more than $4,000,” adds Watson.
