Madison Girls Soccer Seeded No. 6 for Morris County Tournament

Dodgers set to face the winner of Dover vs. Morris Hills.

The Madison girls soccer team has looked strong thus far into 2011, racking up a 5-2-1 record, which included wins in four of its last five games heading into the Morris County Tournament, slated to begin Sunday.

The Dodgers were rewarded for their impressive play this season, securing the No. 6 seed for the upcoming MCT,  and receiving a bye into the first round of the tournament, where they will face the winner of Dover (0-6) vs. Morris Hills (2-4). The Dodgers stopped Dover 7-0 on Tuesday, according to NJ.com.

Undefeated Villa Walsh (7-0) locked up the No. 1 seed in this years’ MCT, leaving 2-Randolph (4-1-2), 3-Mendham (7-1), 4-Kinnelon (5-2) and 5-Morris Catholic (5-1-1) to round out the top five.

Randolph locked up the No. 2 seed over Mendham, thanks in large part to their 1-0 victory last week, which gave them a head-to-head avantage heading into Wednesday's seeding meeting. Mendham is the lone Morris County team ranked in the Star-Ledger top 20 teams in New Jersey, coming in at No. 19 earlier this week.

Randolph will face the winner of Montville vs. Hanover Park, and Mendham will go against the winner of Parsippany Hills vs. Morris Hills. Both preliminary round games are scheduled for Sunday.
