Madison GOP Responds with Facts to Local Democrat Complaint
Recent social media post stated, "Rachel Ehrlich is coming after your homes, your businesses, your purchasing options..."

Last week, the Madison Democratic Committee requested that the Madison Republican Committee take down a social media post that stated, “Rachel Ehrlich is coming after your homes, your businesses, your purchasing options …” The Republican Committee issued this response:
“Don’t take our word for it: We urge all Madisonians to watch the April 27 Borough Council recording, beginning at 1:09:00, where Ms. Ehrlich divulges her plans to eliminate the use of all fossil fuels in Madison: homes, businesses, and Borough entities. She states her desire to “tackle” that “sector” of Madison residents that burns gas “for hot water heating, for space heating, for cooking and washing of clothes” (1:10). Decide for yourselves whether our alarm is warranted, given that the present Council is entirely Democrat and almost always votes in unison.
“Further, we urge local media outlets to investigate the potential impact of Ms. Ehrlich’s Climate Action Committee plans on the cost of living and doing business in Madison. We, the Madison Republican Committee, anticipate that eliminating the use of fossil fuels and exponentially increasing reliance on solar energy and other alternatives will not only not achieve its purported intent of ameliorating the effects of climate change, it will also constitute an extreme imposition and heavy burden for Madison residents.
