UPDATE: Police: Madison Man Had Knife in Christmas Eve Fight

The following arrest information was supplied by the Madison Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

A borough man is facing assault and weapons charges following an alleged disturbance at a Main Street residence on Christmas Eve.

Patrolman Matt Mirabella arrested 20-year-old Jonny Cardona Saturday night at about 9:30 p.m., and charged him with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, which police said was a knife, for an unlawful purpose and domestic violence.

Mirabella and Patrolman Sean McCarthy responded to a Main Street apartment complex on a report of a fight in progress. Mirabella conducted a field investigation and determined that Cardona had attempted to fight with a male roommate for unknown reasons. Cardona allegedly had a knife but did not injure anyone in the apartment, said police spokesman Lt. Darren Dachisen.
