Madison 'Meets Expectations' In PARCC Assessment
District numbers released show Madison scoring level four in all categories.

MADISON, NJ - On average, the Madison School District has met expectations in terms of the district-by-district, school-by-school PARCC results released this week.
Patch put together the rankings, from top to bottom, for each grade (high school math was broken into Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II). You can see the complete ranking of every school here.
Many districts in New Jersey performed in the "Level 4" and "Level 5" areas, which is between the scores of 750 and 850, the latter being a perfect score. The score breakdowns are as follows:

Level 1 (650-700): Did Not Yet Meet Expectations
Level 2 (700-725): Partially Met Expectations
Level 3 (725-750): Approached Expectations
Level 4 (750-799): Met Expectations
Level 5 (800-850): Exceeded Expectations
In third grade English Madison ranked 133 with a score of 766. In fourth grade English Madison ranked 160 with a score of 768. In fifth grade English Madison ranked 133 with a score of 770. In sixth grade English Madison ranked 71 with a score of 774. In seventh grade English Madison ranked 62 with a score of 785. In eighth grade English Madison ranked 59 with a score of 784. In ninth grade English Madison ranked 17 with a score of 779. In tenth grade English Madison ranked 21 with a score of 782. In eleventh grade English Madison ranked 16 with a score of 762. In twelfth grade English Madison ranked 16 with a score of 762.

In third grade math Madison ranked 147 with a score of 764. In fourth grade math Madison ranked 146 with a score of 759. In fifth grade math Madison ranked 113 with a score of 762. In sixth grade math Madison ranked 29 with a score of 767. In seventh grade math Madison ranked 28 with a score of 767. In eighth grade math Madison ranked 35 with a score of 753.
In Algebra I Madison ranked 93 with a score of 782. In Geometry Madison ranked 55 with a score of 752. In Algebra II Madison ranked 13 with a score of 772.
The PARCC tests have been a source of controversy for years, and Gov. Phil Murphy has talked for nearly year about finding replacements for the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers test.
Patch focused on town school districts, charter, vocational and magnet schools. Please note that many students opted out of taking the exam, though New Jersey hasn't said how many.
