Madison Mourns Former Council President
Ben Wolkowitz passed away on Aug. 1 after an extended illness.

MADISON, NJ - The Borough of Madison is mourning the loss of Councilman Ben Wolkowitz passed away on Aug. 1 after an extended illness.
Wolkowitz served on Borough Council for two terms from 2013 through 2016, where he served as Council President in 2016.
"I am deeply saddened to learn of Ben’s passing,” said Madison Mayor Robert Conley. “Ben was always working to find ways to make Madison a better place to live and work, even after his term on council ended this last December. His smile and intellect, which would light up a room, will be greatly missed."

Madison Borough Flags was lowered to half-staff through Monday, and bunting was be placed on Hartley Dodge Memorial as a sign of respect for the life and work of Ben Wolkowitz.
"Please keep his wife Lois, children and grandchildren in your thoughts and prayers," Conley said.
