Each year crowds of people gather on the route down Main Street to enjoy the parade and tree lighting sponsored by the all-volunteer Madison Christmas Committee. Rotarians walk alongside the Santa Claus float and make sure excited children don't run out to greet Santa.
This year, Madison Electric Department installed the tree at Waverly Place, which towers over Main Street and will light up the holiday season for residents and visitors alike.
