Madison Prepares For School Reopening: Share In Our Survey
Mask tolerance and stamina will be key, officials said.
MADISON, NJ - Although the plans are still not final, the Madison School District is working to figure out what school could look like this fall amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
We want to know what you think: Should NJ schools reopen for in-person learning this fall amid the coronavirus outbreak? Take Patch's survey and share your thoughts.
And the plan has three distinct phases:

Phase 1: Hybrid w/Early Dismissal
- Students attend school on alternating days/weeks with remote instruction
- when home.
- Remote accommodations for vulnerable students
- Early dismissal allows for robust cleaning, planning, student support
- Bagged lunches may be served upon leaving
Phase 2: Full Return w/Early Dismissal
- All students attend school every day
- Remote accommodations for vulnerable students
- Early dismissal allows for robust cleaning, planning, student support
- Bagged lunches may be served upon leaving
Phase 3: Full Return w/Full Day
- All students attend school on every day, for a full day
- Remote accommodations for vulnerable students
Officials said that phases allow for multiple models to adapt to health data and noted that • Phase 1 is the presumed model for Aug. 31 with Phase 2 & 3 implemented as local health data permits. School officials also said that parents can assist by:
- Build mask tolerance and stamina in children
- Explore childcare options
- Consider substitute teaching for the district
- Monitor school and district communications
