Madison Presents A COVID-Conscious Drive-In Concert
The first drive-in concert in Madison is happening this Saturday and Sunday.

MADISON, NJ - The first drive-in concert in Madison is happening this Saturday and Sunday, according to Madison Director of Arts and Events Eric Hafen.
The event is sponsored by the Madison Downtown Development Commission in conjunction with the Folk Project of NJ.
The concert will feature blues guitarist, Toby Walker and singer/song writer, Vance
Gilbert. Toby Walker is an internationally-acclaimed and award-winning finger-style guitar
virtuoso and songwriter whose blend of blues, ragtime, country, bluegrass, old-time jazz
and rock results in a terrific, high-energy show that always leaves audiences astounded
and on their feet with an uproar of applause and acclamation, officials said.

Vance Gilbert burst onto the singer/songwriter scene in the 1990’s. His repertoire combines sophisticated melodies and harmonies that attest to his jazz roots, yet remain sublime attestations to the storyteller's craft. He has eight accomplished albums and dazzled audiences throughout the country.
Three performances Saturday, at 2 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Madison Recreation Complex, 184 Ridgedale Ave.

Strict COVID safety measures will be in place, so everyone will have a safe musical experience. Each parked car will have its own “entertainment zone” next to the car.
Guests can either stay in their cars or utilize their entertainment zone. There will not be any food or refreshments to purchase on the property.
Guests are required to bring their own face coverings, which must be worn when the guest is “in action,” i.e. using the restrooms. Physical distancing is also to be followed. In addition to a sound system, the music will be broadcast into the cars through FM radios for those who which to stay in their cars. No alcohol. No umbrellas. Large vans and RV’s are prohibited.
Tickets are based per car and have a range from $35 to $120. A limited number of single
person cars will be admitted for $35. Advance ticket sales only. Tickets are available at
the Madison Arts and Culture Alliance website (www.madisonartsnj.org) and at the Folk
Project website (www.folkproject.org).
