Madison Resident Burglarized Three Neighboring Homes in Nine Days
Julio Arriaza, 34 allegedly burglarized three homes on his own street within nine days. He was apprehended while fleeing the scene.

A 34-year-old Madison resident has been charged with burglarizing three homes on his own street within nine days during the month of October.
Shortly after 12 p.m. on Oct. 22, a family friend who had stopped by to pay a visit interrupted a burglary at a Community Place near where the suspect, Julio Arriaza, lives. Responding officers discovered that a rear window screen had been removed and the house had been ransacked.
According to Madison Police, prescription pills Oxycodone and Xanax and a notebook laptop computer were allegedly reported missing from the residence.

Madison Police apprehended Arriaza as he was fleeing the scene. A witness reported seeing “a suspicious male crouching down behind the fence” of the burglarized home at the time of the crime. Shortly thereafter, Madison Police identified Arriaza as the individual seen crouching outside of the fence.
Several items related to all three October Community Place burglaries were identified and recovered from Arriaza by Madison Police. These included burglar tools and clothing items. The Morris County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation.

“After conducting an extensive investigation on scene, it was concluded that Arriaza was responsible for the burglary that was currently being investigated,” Lt. Joseph Cirella reported. “Additionally, Arriaza is responsible for two other burglaries reported on Oct. 13 and 15, also on Community Place.”
Detective Ken Shannon charged Arriaza with burglary, theft, possession of burglar tools, and criminal mischief for the burglary on Oct. 22.
Bail was set at $25,000 for Arriaza, with no 10 percent option. He was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility where he awaits trial.
“All officers worked hard and diligent to make an apprehension on this case,” Lt. Cirella added.
