Madison Resident Named Big Ten Field Hockey Defensive Player Of The Week

A Madison resident has been named the Big Ten Conference’s field hockey defensive player of the week.

Mackenzie Ellis helped lead the Wolverines to a shutout victory against in-state rival Michigan State University. She scored a goal and added two assists in the game.

Ellis anchored a defensive unit that allowed only eight shots in the game. It is the first time she’s been named Big Ten defensive player of the week. She is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
