Madison Rotary Club Donates $1,000 to Help Preschool Advantage

Funds Will help Build a Brighter Future

(Madison Rotary)

The Madison Rotary Club awarded a $1,000 grant to Preschool Advantage, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve local communities by funding quality preschool for children of families in need. The grant will help a child who lives in Madison attend one of three Preschool Advantage partner schools: Rainbow Montessori School, Madison Montessori School, or The F.M. Kirby Children’s Center.

According to Carol Martorana, Chairperson, Grants and Sponsorships Committee or the Madison Rotary, “Madison Rotary members actively engage to in our community…to empower youth and to partner with other local organizations to enrich the Madison community for all. We are proud to have been supporting Preschool Advantage since 2007 and improving the lives of young children within our community.”

“We are incredibly thankful to the Madison Rotary Club which has been a strong proponent of our work for many years,” said Nancy Bangiola, the Executive Director of Preschool Advantage. “A quality preschool education sets the stage for a child to succeed in future learning experiences and grow up, healthier, and more economically stable than those who don’t have this opportunity. Preschool Advantage is committed to closing the gap between children from lower income families and more affluent families.” She added, “To ensure the success of our community in the future we must invest in today’s children now.”

Preschool Advantage was founded in 1995 to fund tuition for children to attend a quality preschool, children who might not otherwise have such an opportunity. Research shows that by the age of three, children from lower income families are already developmentally behind their peers and benefit greatly from a preschool education which sets them up to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

Preschool Advantage has provided families with financial assistance for high quality preschool education for 25 years. We have paid over 1,500 tuitions throughout the organization’s history funding many of these children for two years of preschool. In September 2020, we supported 78 children who attended one of the 28 partner preschools across Morris and Somerset counties.
