Madison Schools Add More Snow Days Next Year
This year, the school had three days built-in but took six. Next year, five will be built in.

MADISON, NJ — Madison will have more snow days built in to the school calendar next year than they did this year, superintendent Mark Schwarz confirmed to parents in a letter.
During the 2017-2018 school year, Madison had three snow days built in, but wound up needing to take six. Next year, five days will be built into the calendar, hopefully covering all necessary snow days.
To make up the three days needed to hit the 180 day requirement, the district considered two options: taking away days from spring break, or adding on to the end of the year. Schwarz said a majority of parents favored spring break over the end of the year.

School will now be in session three days over spring break: March 30 (Good Friday), Thursday, April 12 and Friday, April 13.
Students who have religious obligations can take March 30th off as an excused absence, Schwarz said. They just need to bring documentation of the religious observance to the school.
