IN SHORT
While Madison dropped its seventh game of the season, this one to a talented Hanover Park squad, one thing that has become evident is that the Dodgers have clearly grown into a better team since the beginning of the year. The Dodgers found themselves trailing, 6-0, after three innings, but rallied late, scoring four runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, getting within two runs of the lead. The onslaught would end there, though, as Madison failed to score in the top of the seventh, leading to the 6-4 loss.
DODGER OF THE GAME
Tori Ellis—The Madison third baseman went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs in the loss.
OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES
Nicole Iannarone (Madison), 2-for-3 with two singles and a walk. Also struck out four batters in the loss; Nikki Caruso (Madison), one-for-two with a triple and a walk; Christina LoConte (Hanover Park), 2-for-2 with two singles, two RBIs, three runs scored and one walk.
THEY SAID IT
"We had a chance to pull it out in the end. We’re not the team that we were in the beginning of the year, that’s the positive thing. There might have been a time where we wanted to make this game respectable, but not today. We came in and wanted to win this game.”— Head coach Dale Garlick
