SOMERSET – had no answer for the Hillsborough Raiders, who celebrated their senior night with a shortened two-period, 13-0 win Saturday night at Protechockey Ponds Ice Center.
The Dodgers (7-8-3) fell behind in the non-league match as Colton Faddish banged home a rebound past goalie Grant Perry from in front of the goal to put the Raiders up 1-0 just 3:01 into the game. The tally would set the tone for the game as the Raiders (12-5-4) would strike for three more to close out the first period with a 4-0 lead.
There was more of the same in the second period. With Madison short-handed on an elbowing penalty, Hillsborough made it 5-0 just 26 seconds in. The Raiders added eight more goals to take the victory on the 10-goal mercy rule.
Dodgers head coach Dave Hansen declined comment after the game.
