MADISON, NJ - The Borough of Madison is joining cities throughout the state in celebrating the inaugural NJ Local Government Week from April 7-13.

According to officials, because local government is the government closest to most citizens, and the one with the most direct daily impact upon its residents, it is important that residents understand how their local government operates, those that serve on local government, the services it provides, and the importance of their active involvement.

“I’m excited that Madison will be participating in this year’s NJ Local Government Week, as it’s an opportunity to help our residents become more informed about the many services Madison provides, which will lead to more knowledgeable citizen participation in the future,” said Mayor Robert H. Conley. “We have multiple events for residents of all ages, and hope to engage Madison residents in our upcoming events,” continued Conley.
