Madison Warns Of New Electric Utility Phone Scam

MADISON, NJ - The Borough of Madison is warning residents of a new phone scam that has callers posing as an electric utility.

According to officials, residents are receiving calls from a 201 area code stating that they must call back ASAP regarding their electric utility.

Madison officials stress that the Madison Electric Department does not make calls of this nature to residents, and therefore, residents are advised to not call the number back or release any of their personal information to the caller.
