Man Tries to Lure Four Madison Boys Inside Van: Police
The driver approached the boys in a green van on Ridgedale Avenue Saturday night.

MADISON, NJ — A man driving a green SUV in Madison tried to convince four juvenile males to get in his van, and then chased the kids when they ran away on Saturday night, Tapinto reports.
The 12-year old boys were working on Ridgedale Avenue off Sayre Court around 9 p.m. Oct. 1. According to Madison Police Department, a man driving an older green SUV approached the kids.
The driver, described as a Hispanic male tried to get the kids to enter his vehicle, the article states. The boys began to ran away from the van, and the driver jumped out of the front seat and followed them for a few steps. The suspect then turned around, got back into the car, and drove away.

There was also a white female passenger in the van, Tapinto says.
"At the time of the incident we do know there was a second vehicle that was beeping their horn either at the kids or at the Hispanic male while parked in front of the SUV. It is not known the reason or the identity of the second vehicle," said Darren P. Dachisen, Madison Police Chief on Monday.

Madison hosted Bottle Hill Day on that day, which brought thousands of people to the borough.
"We are hoping this is an isolated incident," Dachisen said. "But residents and children should stay aware of their surroundings and know what to do in the circumstance."
The SUV is reported as a greenish, older model with a roof rack and a spare tire in back, Tapinto says.
