Man Wanted in Two Jurisdictions Arrested in Madison

License check uncovers active warrants.

Madison police over the weekend arrested a man wanted in two other municipalities.

Sgt. Peter Iossa arrested Gasim Ibrahim, 47, of Jersey City, Saturday morning shortly after 9 a.m. on the strength of two traffic warrants totaling $309 dollars issued by Jersey City Municipal Court and Orange Municipal Court.

Iossa ran a license plate check on the vehicle Ibrahim was driving, which alerted that there were active traffic warrants for the man’s arrest. He stopped him on Route 24 West.

Ibrahim was taken to police headquarters for processing and released after posting bail pending a mandatory court appearance.

The , , and responded to 13 medical emergencies during the week.

Police investigated five motor vehicle crashes during that time.
