MHS Students Honored at Blackwell Art Exhibition
Awards for high school artists at juried competition.
Eight students from the Visual Arts Department were selected to participate in this year’s Blackwell St. Center for the Art’s 23rd Annual Juried High School Art Show.
Seven MHS students received awards at the Opening Reception held March 25 at Morristown’s Atrium Gallery. The exhibition is on display through May 5.
Senior Vendela Larsson received First Place for her graphite drawing, “Lost in the Woods.” Junior Sarah Harrington received Second and Third Place for two pastel compositions, “The Gardener” and “Up close and Personal.”
Seniors Lindsay Alexander, Rachel Fico, and Nora Spillane-Jenny, junior Julia Brzozowski and freshman Teri Minogue were awarded Honorable Mention for their artwork. Charlotte Malaroche also has artwork included in this prestigious high school art show.
Students from 19 different New Jersey high schools are represented among the 335 artworks selected from 612 entries.
