Morris Co. Student Moves In—Temporarily— With College President

A schedule mix-up had Victoria Andrews with a temporary new roommate, the Drew University President.

MADISON, NJ - A schedule mix-up had rising senior Victoria Andrews bunking with a temporary new roommate, Drew University President MaryAnn Baenninger.

Stuart Dezenhall with the Drew University Communications Department said that Baenninger found Andrews walking around campus with all of her move-in belongings having not realized her dorm was several days from being available.

"Instead of having her drive back home to Budd Lake or pay for a hotel, Baenninger turned the desperate situation into a long-weekend stay at her campus residence," said Dezenhall.

Denzenhall said that Andrews was asked to come back before the typical upperclassmen move-in dates so that she could help with Move-In Day.

"When she was let into the building her room hadn't been fully set up yet, and when our president overheard the story in the hallway, she stepped in and offered her a room at her campus residence," he said.
