Morris County Man Dies After Motorcycle Crashes Into Tree, Cops Say
Vehicle crossed over roadway Friday afternoon for unknown reasons, police report.

A Flanders man died as a result of his injuries Friday afternoon after the motorcycle he was driving crossed over the roadway and into a tree, police announced.
At 4:38 p.m. on Friday, Mt. Olive police received a 9-1-1 call of a motorcycle crash on Bartley Chester Road in Mt. Olive Township, just outside Washington Township. The caller reported a motorcyclist has crashed into a tree, Cpl. Eric Anthony said.
When police arrived they found John Monetti, 34, and began administering medical aid, Anthony said. He was taken to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries, Anthony said.

An investigation showed the 1980 Honda motorcycle was traveling east on the roadway near the Toys ‘R’ Us warehouse when Monetti, for unknown reasons, crossed the double yellow line after navigating a curve in the road, Anthony said.
The motorcycle continued east when it crossed into the opposite shoulder, into the grass, and then struck a tree, Anthony said.

The investigation is ongoing but it does not appear any other vehicles were involved, Anthony said.
