Morris County Remembers 64 Neighbors Lost on 9/11
Thirteenth anniversary of terror attacks is Thursday.

On the nation’s darkest day, terror attacks killed nearly 3,000 people on the east coast, affecting everyone in America.
Thirteen years ago on Sept. 11, 2001, airplanes were hijacked and flown into two World Trade Center buildings, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and another that was crash-landed in a field in western Pennsylvania.
The devastation was immense, the loss tragic, and the sadness innumerable.

Morris County lost dozens of its residents that day. They were neighbors, community volunteers, family members. At its annual ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 7, members of the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders read the names of those from the area that died that day.
“We gather at this spot, year after year, not to relive those events of 9-11, but to let the families of those whose lives were so tragically lost that day know that their loved ones will be in our hearts forever,” Freeholder Director Tom Mastrangelo said at the ceremony.
