MPD's Iossa Leader in County Drunk Driving Arrests

Sergeant to be honored at state ceremony.

Many drivers having one—or two or three—for the road didn't get far in Madison in 2010.

Sgt. Peter Iossa has been recognized as the leader in drunk driving arrests in Morris County by the State of New Jersey.

Iossa accounted for 36 DWI arrests—or half of the Madison department's total—in 2010, according to the MPD's Lt. Darren Dachisen. That was up from 2009, when Iossa recorded 15 of the borough's 71 DWI arrests.

Iossa and other members of the state's law enforcement agencies will be honored at New Jersey Remembers, April 27 at 11 a.m. at Trenton War Memorial in Trenton. The event raises awareness of the tragedies associated with impaired driving, and commemorates the lives lost as the result of an impaired driver.

Iossa will be an escort in the procession of family members of those who died in impaired driving incidents, and later receive a framed certificate to be presented by New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow.
