'Night At The Museum' Fundraiser To Benefit Madison Museum

MADISON, NJ — The Museum of Early Trades & Crafts (METC) will host its annual benefit dinner on Friday, Sept. 16.

The event will celebrate and highlight the recently restored Medieval-inspired museum building interior, as well as the expansive Education Annex, in keeping with the evening's theme, "A Night at the Museum."

There will be gathering areas both inside and outside throughout the event, as the space will be filled with magical fairy lights, joy and music.

The "Windows of Opportunity" campaign will raise funds for METC's educational scholarship program. Guests can select a pane of a faux stained-glass window, similar to a Giving Tree, to support programs for schools, senior living facilities, and organizations that serve people with disabilities.

The evening's emcee will be Tom Sellwood who will also be performing during the benefit event. Jazz musician Jerry Vezza and classical harpist Merynda Adams will perform alongside him in the Museum and Annex spaces.

"We are thrilled to also have a special tribute to honor community advocate, museum patron and friend, Maureen Byrne at this event, thanking her for her years of generosity and support of education and historic preservation," said Jill Rhodes, METC Communications Coordinator.

Tickets to the benefit diner can be purchased at the METC website.

"We invite guests to celebrate with us and see all the ways in which their partnership enables us to provide essential educational programming and develop collaborative exhibits for our greater community," Rhodes said.

The Museum of Early Trades and Crafts is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to connecting people's lives and stories while building a bridge from the past to the future, METC said.

METC is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, but is closed on Mondays and major holidays.
