TMC Hosts An Author's Lunch - Laura Schenone on 3/10/18

The Thursday Morning Club cordially invites you to a Wise, Wonderful, Women's program "An Author's Lunch" at the Madison Community House on Saturday, March 10, beginning at noon. Please join us for lunch and a presentation by New Jersey native Laura Schenone.

Laura Schenone is a James Beard Book Award winning author for culinary writing. Her first book, A Thousand Years Over a Hot Stove: A History of American Women Told Through Food, Recipes, and Remembrances and her second book, The Lost Ravioli Recipes of Hoboken are both nonfiction books about food and history. The former book is more of a social history and the second, more of a personal history.

Her third and latest book,The Dogs of Avalon: The Race to Save Animals in Peril continues to chronicle her personal journey with the adoption of her Irish Sight Hound, Lily.

We follow Laura Schenone through her self-discovery of compassion and empathy toward all living creatures as we learn more about greyhounds and an Irish activist that fights for their well-being. A book signing and discussion will follow lunch. Please go to The Thursday Morning Club website to purchase tickets, https://thursdaymorningclub.org/event/an-authors-lunch/
