Police Blotter: Madison Resident Charged with Burglary and Assault
Police also arrest two drunk drivers and two others on warrants from other courts.

On July 7 at approximately 8:42 p.m., Patrolman Kevin Boone arrested William Day, 49 of Madison, on the strength of a $100.00 warrant issued by Morristown Municipal Court. Ptl. Boone ran a computer check on Day and was alerted that there was a warrant for his arrest. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing, he was released on bail pending a mandatory court appearance.
On July 7 at approximately 11:09 p.m., Patrolman James Cavezza arrested Shawn Christian, 25 of Newark, on the strength of a $225.00 traffic warrant issued by Montclair Municipal Court. Ptl. Cavezza initially stopped Christian for a motor vehicle violation. He ran a computer check on his name and was alerted that there was a warrant for his arrest. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing, he was released on bail pending a mandatory court appearance. He was also issued motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended and failure to maintain lamps on a vehicle.
On July 10, at approximately 3:24 a.m., Sgt. Peter Iossa arrested Jeffrey Urban, 25 of Roselle. Urban was charged with driving under the influence. Sgt. Iossa initially stopped Urban for a motor vehicle violation and determined that he was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing, he was released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for speeding.

On July 11 at approximately 3:56 a.m., Sgt. Peter Iossa arrested Edward Gutman, 38 of Montville. Iossa charged him with driving under the influence. Sgt. Iossa initially stopped Gutman for a motor vehicle violation. He determined he was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing, Gutman was released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for speeding.
On July 11 at approximately 3:05 p.m., Patrolman Chad Rybka arrested Terri Artis, 26 of Morristown. He charged her with presenting a fraudulent insurance card to a law enforcement officer. Ptl. Rybka initially stopped Artis for a motor vehicle violation. He determined that the insurance card was fraudulent and that the inspection sticker displayed on the vehicle Artis was operating was also fraudulent. Artis was transported to headquarters for processing, after which she was released pending a mandatory court appearance. Arits was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to inspect her vehicle.

On July 11 at approximately 7:46 p.m., Patrolman Sean McCarthy arrested Raymond Johnson, 27 of Madison. He charged him with burglary, simple assault, and criminal mischief. Ptl. McCarthy was called to a disturbance and determined that a female victim had been assaulted by Johnson. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000.00 bail pending a mandatory court appearance.
