Pound Of Marijuana Seized By Madison Police Over Three Traffic Stops

Over the course of 24 and three traffic stops, police say they took a pound of marijuana off the streets.

MADISON, NJ— Over the course of 24 hours and three different traffic stops, Madison Police took a pound of marijuana off the streets, they said in a press release.

Justin J. Kelly, 21 of Newark, was pulled over by police for a moving violation on March 16. Police said they searched the car after seeing evidence of drug use, finding 1.4 of a pound of marijuana and cash.

He was charged with possession with intent to distribute over one ounce of marijuana within 500 feet of a public building, possession with intent to distribute over one ounce of marijuana, and possession of over 50 grams of marijuana.

Jonathan Y. Guzman, 24 of Berkeley Heights, was pulled over the next day. After seeing signs of drug use, police said they searched the car and found a "large quantity" of marijuana.

He was charged with possession with intent to distribute over one ounce of marijuana within 500 feet of a public building, possession with intent to distribute over one ounce of marijuana, and possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, and was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Later that day, police pulled over William P. Downey IV, 27 of Springfield for an equipment violation. After seeing signs of drug use, police said they searched the car and located about 1/4 of a pound of marijuana.

He was charged with possession with intent to distribute over one ounce of marijuana within 500 feet of a public building, possession with intent to distribute over one ounce of marijuana, and possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, and motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
