Presbyterian Christmas Festivities
The Presbyterian Church of Madison invites the community to celebrate Christmas with several festive events, starting with a colorful children’s pageant on Sunday morning, December 21. The children of the church will offer the story of the Nativity in words and songs. New this year is a youth band, under the direction of music teacher and Chatham resident Michael Callahan. The service will start at 10:15 am on December 21 and will be followed by light refreshments served for everyone attending the pageant.
Fans of classical music and traditional Christmas carols will not want to miss the Christmas Eve service, which will feature pre-service music from 5-5:30 pm by the church’s solo quartet and organist Bill Watson. The service continues with a candlelight “Lessons and Carols” worship led by Pastor Tex Culton, including music by the Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, and soloists under the direction of Director of Music Laura Kosmich.

In addition to the early evening worship, which is to be held in the main sanctuary of the Presbyterian Church at 19 Green Avenue, there will be another one in Webb Chapel at 10 pm featuring a solo quartet. Everyone is welcome to attend these services and share the joy of Christmas with others from our community and beyond.
