Security! Security! Morristown Guard Delivers Baby in Hospital Parking Lot

Linden family's new addition brought into the world by Morristown Medical Center security guard just outside front entrance.

Morristown Medical Center Security Guard Sgt. Nicolette Frangipane thought it would just be another day at the office.

Considering she works at one of the largest hospitals in the region, it was another day at the office – one that gave her insight to what the doctors are usually handling inside the building.

Mary Gail Cespedes and Roby Mendoza were on their way to the hospital when daughter Zoey decided the time to make her way into the world had arrived.

Once in the hospital’s parking lot, Mendoza began frantically calling for help once he realized what was going on. Frangipane ran to the family’s car and helped Cespedes get into position on the passenger seat of the car to give the baby room to come out.

Once Zoey was born, Frangipane cleared fluids and membrane from the baby’s face to make sure she could breathe just before hospital staff wheeled Cespedes and Zoey into the Labor and Delivery unit to be checked.
