Songs for a New World, a musical/song-cycle, debuted in 1995. It focuses on one theme, “the moment of decision”. The audience journeys through song from 1492 to the crash of Wall Street to present day. The characters find themselves on the bring of something new and realize “it’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back”. Jason Robert Brown’s music fuses pop-rock styling with theatrical lyrics.

Fairleigh Dickinson University’s School of the Arts presents this show during a COVID-19 impacted world and offers hope. See the cast of 23 students execute this vocally demanding score from the safety of their homes, in your home.
