Statewide Bullying Report: See Where Madison Falls
The data shows which NJ school districts had the most — and least — bullying and harassment cases.
MADISON, NJ – New Jersey has released its annual list of harassment, intimidation and bullying cases reported by each school district, revealing the most recent data of reported cases.
In Madison, the district ranked 468 out of 550 from highest-to-lowest in schools that reported with a 2.29 of cases per 1,000 people in 2017-18. On the list of New Jersey school districts with the highest-to-lowest number of cases Westfield ranks 303 out of 550 with six reported cases.
A number of suburban areas and charter schools found themselves high on the list statewide. Ocean Gate was 19th in the state with around 27 cases per 1,000 students. Princeton Charter School was 26th with around 22 cases per 1,000 students.

Bradley Beach was 49th with around 15 cases per 1,000 students. Waretown was 83rd with nearly 12 cases per 1,000 students. One of the largest suburban towns, Toms River, was 181st with around 7 cases per 1,000 students.
The state Department of Education has cautioned that these numbers are reported by each district, so each jurisdiction is responsible for reporting its results fairly and accurately. But they are required by law to report them.
