Summer Studies at Drew: Writing, Research and Programming

Register Now for July 5 - Aug. 11 Session

Madison, N.J. – Want to learn the basics of computer programming?

Or are you more interested in chemistry or how the federal government works? Well, all those subjects and more are covered during Drew University’s second summer session, which begins July 5.

Some 24 courses across 13 disciplines are offered during a five-week period ending Aug. 11. The programming course explores how to design, implement, document and test programs in JavaScript. Here’s a look at three other courses:

Experiential Learning Through Cinema: Images of Africana People Through Cinema. Featured films include A Raisin in the Sun, The Harder They Come, Twelve Years a Slave and Places in the Heart.

Introduction to Neuroscience. Investigate challenges to neuroscience research, including Alzheimer’s disease and the biological basis of memory.

Topics in Creative Writing Workshop: Fiction and Non-Fiction. What are the boundaries of creative non-fiction and how can we write fiction that feels true?

The classes are open to high school students, and college students and adults. Also, high school students receive a 29 percent discount on the cost of a credit for all but one class.
