
When it comes to ranking pay among New Jersey's private college presidents, 's Robert Weisbuch is mostly looking up.
Weisbuch earned $470,620 in 2009, according to the Chronicle of Higher Learning, which surveyed the compensation of all U.S. private college presidents.
That placed him sixth among the presidents of the Garden State's nine private colleges.

Weisbuch earned $339,467 in base pay and $13,269 in other compensation. He has served as president of the Madison school since 2005.
The top earner among New Jersey's private colleges was Harold Raveche, Stevens Institute of Technology, who was paid $1,207,249. Sister Rosemary E. Jeffries of Georgian Court University, at $95,503, finished at the bottom of the rankings.

J. Michael Adams, president of since 1999 and based at the school's Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, earned $657,285 in 2009, fourth in the state and an increase of 44 percent over the prior year, according to the survey.
Weisbuch's pay actually fell 1 percent in 2009, the survey found.
Weisbuch ranked 188th among presidents at 520 U.S. private colleges, according to the survey.
