Sweeney's 20 Saves Lift Dodgers' Girls Lax
Rutland scores five goals as Madison rolls past Morristown-Beard.

Shannon Sweeney stopped 20 shots to lead Madison past Morristown-Beard, 15-2, in a Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference game Monday in Morristown.
The junior goalie shattered her personal record of nine saves–set in last Thursday's season-opening win at Morris Catholic–to help the Dodgers cruise.
Offensively, the Dodgers had no issues, rolling off 11 first-half goals. Emily Rutland led Madison (2-0, 2-0 NJAC-Independence) with five goals, while Kathleen Matthews and Ali Foulsham added four apiece.
Matthews has tallied a team-leading 12 points in the first two games, while Foulsham has recorded nine.
Junior midfielder Alli Helwig keyed the offense by winning 10 draws. She also added an assist.

Madison will try to make it 3-for-3 in the NJAC when they host St. Elizabeth on Friday in the Dodgers' home opener.
The Panthers, like the Dodgers, were members of the Northern Hills Conference last season. Madison defeated St. Elizabeth twice in regular-season play, 15-5 and 16-2.
