TMC Operation Cookie - Candy Delivers

Police, fire and local nursing homes recipients of special treats

Over 160 individual containers of home baked cookies and mixed chocolate candies were delivered to local nursing homes thanks to the generosity, effort and baking skills of members of the Thursday Morning Club. Trays of cookies were transported to the Madison Police and Fire Departments as well. Special care is always taken to ensure that sugar and nut-free choices are included also.

Each year the Thursday Morning Club, under the direction of Susan Fleming the chair of the Home Life Community Service Program participates in Operation Cookie/Candy. Susan Fleming, Chairman of this year’s initiative, assembled a large group of member volunteers after the club’s General Meeting to help package the goodies. The ShopRite of Chatham Township donated the containers (as they have in the past) and were eventually delivered to the facilities.

This year, residents of Cheshire Home in Florham Park, Chatham Hills in Chatham, Garden Terrace in Chatham and Harmony House in Madison were the lucky recipients.
