Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest: Madison Police

Carmen G. Soto was charged with possession, police said.

MADISON, NJ - A 20-year-old Union woman was arrested and charged with possession after a motor vehicle stop on Feb. 13, according to the Madison Police Department.

According to police, Patrolman Julian Morales stopped Carmen G. Soto’s vehicle on Cook Avenue for an equipment violation. Upon speaking with the Soto, Morales observed signs of drug use in plain view, police said.

She was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and was arrested on scene, police said. Soto was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, both being disorderly person’s offenses, police said.

She was later released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
