6 Mahwah Students Receive National Honor

MAHWAH, NJ — Six township high school scholars were named commended students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The students are: James A. Ariemma, Jacob Brand, Malcolm J. Cantor, Michael Cantow, Carolyn Mavretish and Brianna M. Schmidt.

About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2016

Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Commended Students placed among the top 5 percent of test takers.
