MAHWAH, NJ — Mahwah Recreation is holding a home and business decorating contest in honor of America's 250th birthday.
"Get ready to show your hometown pride and help deck out Mahwah in red, white, and blue!" the town announced.
Categories will include Best Overall Display, Best All-Around Display (visual impact, theme, details), Best Use of Lights, Most Creative, Best Family Effort, and Best Business Display.
Prizes will be awarded.
To participate, first sign up here by Friday, May 15: https://register.capturepoint.com/Mahwah
Finish decorations by May 22, and submit photos to Mary Beth Duffy at mduffy@mahwahtwp.org.
Judging will occur July 1. Winners will be announced on Independence Day.
A map of all participating homes and businesses will be shared on social media so the whole community can enjoy the displays.
