MAHWAH, NJ — A mom who was active in the Mahwah school community passed away this month at 49.
According to her obituary, after a corporate career, Kathrin "Kate" Antonelli worked as a teacher’s assistant, "where her patience and warmth made a difference in the lives of many." She also had coached youth soccer in Mahwah and "supported Mahwah’s sports programs in every way she could."
On Facebook, a friend posted that she was chair of the Music Boosters Scholarship Committee, and had helped award six scholarships to graduating seniors this month. "Kate Antonelli was the equivalent of a mystical creature," he wrote. "[She] was a one of a kind human being. Our lives are all better for having known her."
